Exploration

  • $45.5M expenditure in exploration and infrastructure since 2007.
  • Over 80 years of exploration and mining activity in the area.
  • Matrixset has completed 22,701m / 73 holes of drilling and conducted Geomagnetic Airborne surveying, at a cost of $13.5m to define, expand mineral resources and locate new ore bodies.
    • Discovery of a new high grade ore body at Bingo
    • Discovery of orebody extension at Golden Heart
    • Significant resource potential expansion at Corner Lake
  • Resources increased 363% from 440,000 oz (2015) to 1.6M oz Au (M+I).
  • Of that, 816,000 oz Au is in current mining leases.
  • 90% of tenure has additional exploration potential.

Extensive exploration in the region has defined newly expanded geographic boundaries of an orebody within the surface leases. The total project area has undergone various exploration activities that include prospecting, geological mapping, geochemical sampling, outcrop sampling, biogeochemical analysis, glacial till, geophysical surveys, and extensive diamond drilling. A VTEM Plus (Versatile Time Domain Electromagnetic system) helicopter airborne survey of 3977 km was taken over the Bingo Roy Lloyd region, and several drill programs totaling 73 holes have been conducted across multiple property areas. At Bingo, trenching, surface examination of rock outcrops, soil sampling, and hydrothermal alteration investigations were also conducted for further exploration data. Since 2007, $45.5M has been spent on exploration of these properties to bring our current resource estimates to 1.6M oz Au
